Due to a strong incoming storm and concerns for public safety, the Sausalito/Southern Marin Holiday Bell-Ringing Challenge scheduled to take place at the Sausalito Ferry Landing has been cancelled.

The Sausalito Police Department and Southern Marin Fire District appreciate the community’s enthusiasm and support. With forecasted weather conditions expected to create unsafe conditions along the waterfront, public safety must take priority.

Community members who were planning to attend and support the event are encouraged to continue their generosity by making a direct cash donation to the Salvation Army San Rafael Corps, which provides essential food assistance, emergency relief, and family services throughout Marin County—especially during the holiday season.

While this year’s event cannot move forward, organizers are already planning a new Holiday Bell-Ringing Challenge in December 2026 and look forward to bringing this community tradition back under safer conditions.
