Noteworthy Incidents recorded from Southern Marin Fire District's Deputy Chief of Operations:

● October 25, 2024 Vegetation Fire - Engine 6 and Engine 7 responded to a 30x30 vegetation fire in the area of Sycamore Avenue.  The fire was quickly extinguished and there was no structure threat.  The cause was undetermined.

October 30, 2024 Vegetation Fire - Fire District resources responded to a report of a vegetation fire in the area of Bulkley Avenue in Sausalito.  A 50x50 fire was quickly extinguished.  There was no structure threat and the cause of the fire was likely from powerlines that has fallen in the area.  For a short period of time, power was out in the area of Bulkley, but was quickly restored.  

October 31, 2024 Structure Fire - 462 Wellesley in Tam Valley.  Resources arrived to find a small fire inside the walls adjacent to a bedroom.  Crews quickly extinguished the fire, checked for extension, and provided salvage operations to save valuables and limit damage from opening up the sheetrock walls.

October 31, 2024 Commercial Vehicle Fire - Zone 9, Highway 101.  Resources arrived to find a large amount of fire in the tractor cab area.  The fire was quickly extinguished and crews were able to save the trailer and all of the commodities within it. Traffic was slowed due to the fire and CHP assisted with slowing traffic prior to where our crews were operating.  

November 4, 2024 Cliff Rescue - Golden Gate National Recreation Area.  A person fishing below Battery Alexander was rescued via hoist operations by CHP Helicopter H30.
