Marin County Launches AED Scavenger Hunt Ahead of 14th Annual Sidewalk CPR Event
This July, Marin County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), in collaboration with Marin Health and Human Services, the Southern Marin Fire District and other local fire departments, PulsePoint, and community partners, invites the public to participate in a high-impact initiative: Marin AED Scavenger Hunt.
The goal? Locate and register every across Marin.
AEDs are lifesaving tools that can restore a normal heartbeat after sudden cardiac arrest. When used promptly, they can double or even triple the chance of survival. Unfortunately, many AEDs in our community are not registered—making them difficult to find during an emergency.
That’s where you come in.
Help identify and map AEDs in public places like gyms, schools, parks, businesses, and government buildings.
How to Participate:
1. Look around as you go about your day.
2. Take a photo of any AED you find.
3. Submit it here: https://marincounty.jotform.com/251627018845864

Submissions are accepted July 16 through August 16. There’s no limit to the number of AEDs you can submit. Marin EMS will review all entries, and any unregistered devices will be added to the PulsePoint AED Registry, a vital network that helps bystanders and emergency crews locate the nearest defibrillator in real time.
Incentive: The top five participants who find and submit the most unregistered AEDs will each receive a $100 gift card!
“Every minute matters during cardiac arrest,” said a spokesperson from Marin County EMS. “This is a fun, community-powered way to save lives and ensure that help is always close by.”
The AED Scavenger Hunt supports Marin’s goal of becoming a 4-Minute Community—where immediate bystander response helps bridge the gap until first responders arrive.
