Southern Marin Fire District Responds to Structure Fire in Mill Valley

On February 19, 2026, at approximately 5:50 p.m., Southern Marin Fire District crews were dispatched to a working structure fire at 533 Charles Lane in Mill Valley. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered challenging access conditions and an exterior fire threatening the residence.

The fire was brought under control within approximately 15 minutes of dispatch and was successfully prevented from extending into the primary residence. Crews remained on scene for overhaul to ensure complete extinguishment.

Five apparatus and 20 personnel responded. All residents evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.

Assisting agencies included Marin County Fire Department, Tiburon Fire Department, Marin County Sheriff’s Office, and PG&E.

Investigators will be on site Friday to conduct a cause and origin determination.
