Southern Marin Fire District has donated excess and expired medical supplies to Ron Albert of the Rotary Club of Sausalito to support humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine. The supplies will be shipped overseas through The Traveling Colonels, an all-volunteer organization led by retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonels.
Since 2022, The Traveling Colonels have conducted more than 20 missions delivering medical aid directly to frontline stabilization points, field hospitals, and surgical centers across Ukraine. Their most recent updates highlight the urgent need for medical supplies to treat traumatic amputations and other severe injuries resulting from ongoing combat operations.
While some of the donated items are expired under U.S. medical standards, they can still provide valuable supplemental resources in crisis environments where supplies are critically limited. Aid is transported from Kyiv distribution centers directly to surgeons and medical teams working under extreme conditions.
The Rotary Club of Sausalito is actively accepting donations to help cover shipping and logistics costs for sending these lifesaving supplies overseas.
SMFD is proud to support this effort and partner with local organizations to ensure usable surplus supplies continue to make a meaningful impact where they are urgently needed.
