MILL VALLEY – On May 16, 2026 at approximately 10:31 a.m., Southern Marin Fire District units were dispatched to a working structure fire a117 Cornelia Avenuet . Upon arrival, crews encountered fire conditions confined to the first floor of a residence. The fire was brought under control at approximately 10:46 a.m.
The fire has been contained. Five apparatus and eighteen personnel were assigned to the incident. The fire was prevented from extending to the second and third floors of the residence. Units will patrol the scene as prevention personnel investigate the cause. All residents and their pets were able to evacuate safely with assistance from fire department personnel.
Partnering agencies included the Tiburon Fire Department, Central Marin Fire Department, Mill Valley Police Department, and PG&E.

The structure was a distance from the roadway up a hill, which required firefighters to lay in hundreds of feet of hose to get to the structure.
