Structure Fire – 2365 Bridgeway

SAUSALITO, CA — On Friday, May 22, 2026, at approximately 11:55 p.m., crews from the Southern Marin Fire District responded to a reported working structure fire at a residence on Bridgeway in Sausalito.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered advanced fire conditions on the second floor of the residence. Crews initiated an aggressive interior fire attack and brought the fire under control at approximately 12:17 a.m.

The fire was contained to the second floor and prevented from extending to the first floor of the home. Seven apparatus and nineteen personnel were assigned to the incident. All residents were able to evacuate safely with assistance from fire department personnel. No injuries were reported.

Despite rescue efforts, one dog did not survive. The fire is believed to be accidental, and the cause remains under investigation as crews and fire prevention personnel continue conducting a cause and origin investigation. Southern Marin Fire District personnel remain assigned to the property and are working directly with the displaced residents.

Assisting agencies included Marin County Fire Department, Tiburon Fire Protection District, Central Marin Fire Department, Sausalito Police Department, and PG&E.
