Vegetation Fire – Bunker Road and Coastal Trail, Sausalito (GGNRA)

Marin Headlands, CA — On June 14, 2026, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Southern Marin Fire District units were dispatched to a working vegetation fire in the area of Bunker Road and Coastal Trail.

Upon arrival, crews encountered a one-acre fire burning in grass and brush. Firefighters brought the fire under control at approximately 4:29 p.m.

Firefighters have controlled the fire. Eight fire apparatus and 53 personnel were assigned to the incident. Crews prevented the fire from extending further into the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, containing it to 2.57 acres.

Hose lines will stay in place overnight and into tomorrow to address any remaining hot spots and ensure the fire remains fully contained.

Assisting agencies included the Marin County Fire Department, National Park Service, Central Marin Fire Department, Tiburon Fire Protection District, and the California Highway Patrol.
