Southern Marin Fire District Welcomes Daria Carrillo as Administrative Services Director

The Southern Marin Fire District is pleased to announce the appointment of Daria Carrillo as the District's new Administrative Services Director, bringing more than two decades of financial leadership and public sector experience serving Marin County communities.

Carrillo joins the District with 24 years of experience in local government and public education administration, having built a distinguished career overseeing finance, budgeting, human resources, risk management, and administrative operations for public agencies throughout Marin County.

Most recently, Carrillo served for nearly eight years as Finance Director and Town Treasurer for the Town of Corte Madera, overseeing the Town's financial operations, budgeting, and treasury functions. Prior to that, she spent seven years as Finance and Administrative Services Director for the Town of San Anselmo. Earlier in her career, Carrillo worked for more than nine years in Marin County public education, serving both the Ross Elementary School District and the Marin County Office of Education.

Carrillo holds a Juris Doctor from Hastings College of the Law and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Sonoma State University, providing a strong foundation in public administration, finance, and organizational leadership.

"Her extensive experience in public agency finance and administration, combined with her deep roots in Marin County, make her an outstanding addition to our leadership team. Daria's expertise will help ensure the District continues to operate with fiscal responsibility while supporting the firefighters and staff who serve our communities every day."

A lifelong Marin County resident, Carrillo grew up in San Anselmo and has called San Rafael home for the past 25 years. Her longstanding commitment to public service and her understanding of the unique needs of Marin communities will be invaluable as the District continues to advance its mission of protecting lives, property, and the environment.

As Administrative Services Director, Carrillo will oversee the District's administrative and financial operations, helping ensure the organization remains well-positioned to meet current needs while planning for the future.
