Sausalito, CA — At approximately 4:42 p.m., Southern Marin Fire, Mill Valley Police, and mutual-aid agencies responded to a vegetation fire between Hillside Avenue and Blithedale Ridge. The fire burned through previously treated vegetation at a slow rate of spread.

Firefighters made rapid progress, gaining access to the area and working to contain the fire. The initial shelter-in-place advisory has been lifted, and there are no evacuation notices.

As of 6:10 p.m., forward progress of the fire has been stopped. Firefighters have established a hose line around the perimeter, containing the fire at approximately 1.5 acres.

Crews will remain on scene for the next several hours to patrol the area, extinguish remaining hot spots, and strengthen containment.
