Measure U Senior Low-Income Exemption

Application Deadline
To qualify for the exemption on your 2026–2027 tax bill, your completed application must be postmarked by June 30, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, you must:
- Be 65 years of age or older by July 1, 2026
- Own and occupy your primary residence
- Live within the Southern Marin Fire District
- Have a combined household income at or below the limits listed below
Household Income Limits (2025 Calendar Year)
Total gross household income from all sources, including Social Security, must not exceed:
- 1 person household: $117,700
- 2 person household: $134,500
- 3 person household: $151,300
- 4 person household: $168,100
- 5 person household: $181,550
Important Notes

- You must reapply every year to maintain the exemption.
- Only submit the application form.
Please do not submit any confidential supporting documentation with your form, including tax returns, bank statements, copies of identification, or similar materials. Any such documents received will be promptly deleted or destroyed to maintain confidentiality. - We reserve the right to request additional documentation at a later time for audit or verification purposes. At this stage, only the completed form is required.
